What you can do with arXiv API via MCP

Every endpoint below becomes a governed tool your AI agent (Claude, ChatGPT, or a customer-facing VX agent) can call — with scoped permissions, sandbox testing, and audit logs.

Usage guide

## Authentication arXiv API query access is public and does not require an API key or bearer token. ```bash curl "https://export.arxiv.org/api/query?search_query=all:machine%20learning&start=0&max_results=10&sortBy=relevance&sortOrder=descending" ``` Responses use Atom 1.0 XML. Use `start` and `max_results` for paging; arXiv documents a maximum of 2,000 results per slice and asks clients to follow its API terms and rate guidance. Parse XML safely because abstracts and titles are external text.
