Usage guide

## Authentication Crossref's public REST API does not normally require an API key for metadata retrieval. Identify your application with a descriptive `User-Agent` containing a contact email or URL. You may also send the contact address as the `mailto` query parameter to request polite-pool handling. Do not send fabricated bearer tokens. Respect Crossref rate limits and cache responses. Member-only registration and metadata deposit workflows use separate authenticated services and are not represented by this read-only listing. ## Coverage Includes bibliographic work search and DOI lookup. Crossref metadata can include books, chapters, reports, articles, funding, licenses, ORCID, ROR and update information when deposited.
