What you can do with Hardcover API via MCP

Every endpoint below becomes a governed tool your AI agent (Claude, ChatGPT, or a customer-facing VX agent) can call — with scoped permissions, sandbox testing, and audit logs.

Usage guide

## Authentication Create or sign in to a Hardcover account, open the account API settings, and generate a personal API token. Send it on every GraphQL request as `Authorization: Bearer YOUR_HARDCOVER_TOKEN`. Treat the token like a password and never commit it to source control. The official API is beta. Queries are intended for backend or offline use and are subject to documented timeouts, rate limits, and permissions. Start with the official health-check query `query { me { id username } }` to confirm authentication. ## Coverage This listing exposes the official GraphQL endpoint. The request body accepts the provider's normal GraphQL query/mutation structure; consult the schema/docs for current book, edition, author, list, and user fields.
