Authentication

api-key

API key — sent as the X-Auth-Token header

A GetResponse API key, sent in the X-Auth-Token header with the api-key prefix: X-Auth-Token: api-key <your key>.

How to get a credential

  1. Sign in to GetResponse.
  2. Open Tools > Integrations and API > API (or go to app.getresponse.com/api).
  3. Click Generate API key, name it (e.g. VX Agents) and confirm.
  4. Copy the key and store it as api-key <your key> (with the api-key prefix and a space).

Common errors

Status Meaning Fix
401 Key missing, revoked, or sent without the api-key prefix Store the value as api-key <key>; generate a new key if it was deleted.
403 The account plan does not include the feature (webinars, websites) Check the plan, or use the owner's key.
400 Invalid filter or date, e.g. a malformed query[date][from] Read message and context in the response and fix the parameter.
404 Unknown popup, landing page, website or webinar id List the items first and use the returned id.
429 Throttled (about 30,000 calls per 10 minutes, 80 per second) Wait for the time in X-RateLimit-Reset and retry.

Store the key as an API key credential in VX Agents; never paste it into chat. GetResponse MAX accounts use a different host (api3.getresponse360.com or .pl) and an X-Domain header, which this spec does not cover.

Usage guide

Setup

  • Credential: a GetResponse API key stored as api-key <your key> (with the prefix); it goes in the X-Auth-Token header. Generate it under Tools > Integrations and API > API.
  • Worth pinning: the ids of the popups, landing pages or webinars you report on every week.
  • GetResponse MAX accounts use another host and an X-Domain header; this spec targets the standard api.getresponse.com host.

Compare lead sources for a period

  1. listPopups with query[status]=published, stats[from]/stats[to] (ISO 8601 date-time) and sort[leads]=DESC ranks forms and popups by leads; getPopupPerformance with query[date][from]/query[date][to] (YYYY-MM-DD) gives views, clicks, CTR and leads for one, optionally by query[device] (desktop, mobile) or query[location].
  2. listLandingPages (same stats[...] window, sort[subscriptionRate]=DESC) and getLandingPagePerformance for page views, visits and unique visitors; query[page] narrows to one page UUID.
  3. listWebsites and getWebsitePerformance do the same for sites built with the website builder.
  4. getPopup, getLandingPage and getWebsite give names, status and URLs to quote in the summary.

Webinars

  • listWebinars with query[status] (upcoming, finished, published, unpublished), query[type] (all, live, on_demand) or query[name]; sort[startsOn]=ASC puts the next one first.
  • getWebinar returns startsOn, the webinarUrl room link, the lists (campaigns) registrants join, the invitation newsletters and statistics.

Good to know

  • Everything here is read-only, so no confirmation is needed.
  • Sort values are ASC or DESC. Lists page with page (from 1) and perPage (max 1000); fields limits the returned attributes.
  • Ids are strings (forms, popups and landing pages use UUIDs); take them from the list calls.
  • Rate limit: about 30,000 calls per 10 minutes and 80 per second; on 429 wait for X-RateLimit-Reset.
