Use the user's Stripe secret key as the basic-auth username and leave the password empty. Never place the key in the Swagger file.
Usage guide
Getting credentials
- Create or log in to an account at Stripe.
- Open the Stripe Dashboard API Keys page.
- Use a Stripe test-mode secret key for initial testing.
- When VX Agent asks for Basic authentication, provide the Stripe secret key as the username and leave the password empty.
Keep the secret key private. Do not paste it into the Swagger file, marketplace description, prompts, or chat messages.
How to use this API
Use this API to manage Stripe PaymentIntents, customers, and products.
A typical workflow is:
- Use
GET /v1/productsto inspect the product catalog. - Use
GET /v1/customersorPOST /v1/customersto find or create a customer when explicitly authorized. - Use
POST /v1/payment_intentsto create a payment flow with an amount and three-letter currency code. - Use
GET /v1/payment_intents/{payment_intent_id}to check the payment status. - Use
POST /v1/payment_intents/{payment_intent_id}/confirmonly after the user confirms the exact amount, currency, customer, and payment method. - Use
POST /v1/payment_intents/{payment_intent_id}/captureonly for an authorized payment that the user explicitly wants to capture. - Use
POST /v1/payment_intents/{payment_intent_id}/cancelonly after explicit confirmation.
Always test with Stripe test-mode keys and test payment methods before using live mode. Use an idempotency key when retrying a write request to reduce the risk of duplicate operations.
Safety and usage notes
Payment creation, confirmation, capture, cancellation, customer creation, and product changes are consequential operations. Require confirmation immediately before performing them. Verify the amount, currency, customer, payment method, product, and mode before every payment action.
Never expose the Stripe secret key. Do not store card numbers, CVCs, or other sensitive payment credentials in prompts or records. Do not use live mode without independent review and explicit authorization. This integration is for API execution and testing; financial, legal, tax, and compliance decisions remain the user's responsibility.
